Withdrawal symptoms in smokers

When you quit smoking, a lot of people experience typical withdrawal symptoms because the body has to adjust to the lack of nicotine. Often, the symptoms start just a few hours after your last cigarette.

These can include strong cravings, restlessness, irritability, trouble concentrating, as well as sleep problems or headaches. Increased appetite is also pretty common.

The withdrawal phase usually doesn't last forever and often peaks in the first few days. With a bit of patience, distraction, and maybe some support, the symptoms usually get much better.
