Cannabis root rot

Cannabis root rot usually happens because there’s too much moisture in the substrate and the roots aren’t getting enough oxygen. It’s especially common with waterlogged soil, bad watering habits, or poor drainage.

Typical signs are slow growth, droopy leaves even though the soil is wet, and a rotten smell coming from the pot. In more advanced cases, the roots turn brown, get slimy, and stop working properly.

You can mostly prevent root rot by using loose substrate, making sure you have good drainage, watering the right amount, and keeping enough air moving around the roots.
